Small Business Heroes Awards $1,000 Grants to 6 Local Businesses
MMA champion Ronda Rousey presents grants at a Los Angeles event sponsored by insureon
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Small Business Heroes, a wish-granting program that supports America's small businesses, today awarded $1,000 grants to six Los Angeles-area:
- Bark Avenue LA, an LA-based dog services business and creator of Bark Avenue Foundation, which supports animal welfare.
- Glendale Youth Alliance, a non-profit organization providing jobs and employment preparedness training for Glendale's low-income youth ages 14-24.
- 4ever Dazzled, a handmade jewelry and accessories business helping to revive the central business area of Inglewood.
- A Touch of Home, a business that sends care packages and items from home to members of the military.
- Fist of Fusion, a Hawaiian-Filipino food truck business serving the Hollywood area, and a past supporter of local homeless organizations.
- Chunk-n-Chip, a food truck that makes gourmet cookies into ice cream sandwiches.
The event was sponsored by insureon, America's leading online insurance agency for small and micro businesses, and features MMA champion and TUF star Ronda Rousey, who partnered with insureon earlier this year to portray the insureon Protector, a superhero who fights to defend small-business owners.

Small Business Heroes has awarded grants to more than 50 small businesses across the U.S. over the past year as part of its decision to dedicate $500,000 to supporting small businesses.
