DETROIT, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Entrepreneurs Association and Lawrence Tech University have teamed up to host the 2018 Entrepreneur and Small Business Conference: Small Business Doing Big Business, a one day event designed to train entrepreneurs to successfully grow their businesses. The conference will feature networking, keynote speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions on a variety of topics including funding, government contracting, corporate contracting, overcoming obstacles and digital marketing. The event will take place October 3, 2018 from 9am to 4pm at Lawrence Tech University in Southfield Michigan.
"The importance of this conference can not be understated as small businesses have helped to transform the local economy, providing jobs, attracting new talent and stimulating growth. We support this effort," stated ZaLonya Allen, PhD, President of the National Entrepreneurs Association. There will be three panel discussions. The first, "Grow to the Next Level" will be moderated by Camille Walker Banks, Executive Director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and will consist of entrepreneurs who have graduated from the program discussing their experiences. The second, "Funding and Finance" will be moderated by Dr. Ken Harris, President of the National Business League. Panelists will consist of representatives from area banks including Comerica, CIBC and Chase. The third panel, "Women in Business" will be moderated by Detroit Free Press Columnist Rochelle Riley and will consist of women business owners discussing how they overcame obstacles.
Media personality Mark S. Lee will lead a fireside chat with 13 year old Millionaire Entrepreneur Alina Morse, founder of Zollipops sold in over 7,000 stores worldwide including Kroger and Whole Foods. The conference will conclude with an awards presentation to entrepreneurs who serve as role models in the business community. Joseph Anderson, Chairman and CEO of Tag Holdings, a company that has generated millions of dollars and hundreds of jobs throughout the country, will receive the NEA Lifetime Achievement Award.
The conference will showcase 30 exhibitors consisting of entrepreneurs and service providers such as the Small Business Administration.
