Prendergast, a principal in its Virginia office, who yesterday was awarded the prestigious Peter L. Bernstein award by Institutional Investor Journals. The award "honors extraordinary and compelling research" published in any of the 10 Institutional Investor Journals over the past year.  Dr. Prendergast received the award for his paper titled "Fundamental, Flight-to-Quality, and Flight-to-Liquidity Components in Subprime Mortgage-Backed Security Returns" which appeared in the Summer 2009 issue of the Journal of Fixed Income.  His article identifies factors that determined subprime security returns during the recent financial crisis.
