Slalom Consulting's Portland Office Appoints Kory Kimball as General Manager
PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Slalom Consulting's Portland office recently announced its promotion of Kory Kimball to general manager. Kimball has been a senior executive at Slalom Consulting for over five years, leading high-performing teams that deliver innovative business and technology solutions for a broad range of clients.
With 20 years of experience in consulting and IT, encompassing tenure at Deloitte, Arthur Andersen, and Portland software leader Webtrends, Kimball has a proven track record of enabling companies to boost operational efficiencies, improve the customer experience, and enhance business performance. A born-and-raised Oregon native active in his community, Kimball brings a deep understanding of Portland's business landscape to the role.
Kimball says Slalom's unique business model is what first attracted him to the company five years ago. Over the last year, Kimball has collaborated closely with leaders across the company to define and enact the firm's core values, which are the bedrock of that business model. "I love that Slalom empowers its people to define their goals and career paths. At other consulting firms, your career is often determined by the hierarchy of the company. Whether you want to move up the ladder or develop a specialized set of skills, your professional path at Slalom is entirely up to you," says Kimball.
Maximizing the talents and capabilities of Slalom's people is central to Kimball's leadership approach. "Each individual is a valued and integral member of our team. It is my job to give everyone here -- from the recruiting manager to the sales lead to the consultant -- the dedicated attention, guidance, and tools they need to achieve their goals."
Slalom has the local capability to offer holistic business and technology solutions to its clients. In 2014, Slalom Portland plans to invest heavily in its key areas of solution expertise, including Salesforce.com, information management and analytics, organizational effectiveness, and custom application development. "We have a unique opportunity to combine our local solution expertise with our growing industry expertise to provide winning solutions for our clients," says Kimball. In this role, Kimball will also focus on expanding Slalom's deep expertise in key industries such as healthcare and utilities.
Giving back to Portland's community is also a top priority for Slalom Portland. Every year, the firm supports a variety of charities that are meaningful to its employees. "As we continue to contribute to Portland's economy, we are equally invested in contributing to the community we live in. We are always thinking about how we can expand our philanthropic efforts," says Kimball. Slalom Portland holds annual events to benefit Clackamas Women's Shelter, Adopt-a-Family through Salvation Army, the Oregon Food Bank, and local veterans.
