Slalom Consulting Earns Near-Perfect Score on 2014 Corporate Equality Index
SEATTLE, Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Slalom Consulting, a national business and technology consulting firm, scored an impressive 90 percent on The Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). In its 12th edition, the CEI evaluated more than 700 businesses for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality, and rated their adoption of inclusive policies, equal benefits for domestic partners, respectful advertising, and external community outreach. This was the first year that Slalom submitted to be evaluated for inclusion in the CEI.
"To be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness is quite an honor," said John Tobin, Co-Founder and President, North America. "One of our core values is that we celebrate authenticity—we want and expect our people to be who they really are. We know that an environment in which everyone is welcome and can succeed is paramount to the future of our company."
"We commend Slalom Consulting on their 90 percent score as a first-time participant in the 2014 Corporate Equality Index," said Deena Fidas, Workplace Equality Program Director at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
A key element of Slalom's LGBT focus is through GLASS (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender & Allied Employees Succeeding at Slalom), an employee-driven organization that encourages equality and community. Established in Slalom's Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle offices, the groups meet regularly to support local community service events, foster employee education, and help attract and retain talent in Slalom's local markets.
