SkyWest Airlines Names Steve Black Vice President - Customer Service
Jim Boyd to Retire after 33 Years with the Airline
ST. GEORGE, Utah, Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), announces the promotion of Steve Black to Vice President – Customer Service effective Nov. 17, 2014. Black will succeed Jim Boyd, who will retire after 33 years with the airline. As Vice President – Customer Service, Black will report to Mike Thompson, SkyWest Airlines COO, and will be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of all SkyWest stations and contracted stations, coordinating the development and implementation of operational procedures and policies. He will oversee more than 3,400 customer service employees located in 59 SkyWest-operated stations. He will also oversee ground equipment, corporate real estate, station personnel training and customer relations.

Black takes on the role of Vice President with more than 23 years at SkyWest, with extensive background including station, regional and code share experience, as well as extensive safety program experience. He takes on the VP role after more than two years as the Managing Director – Safety and Quality, a position in which he oversaw the airline's progress and transition to a Safety Management System and continued to enhance the airline's safety culture.

Black and his wife have four children and reside in St. George.
