SkypeShield Releases MDM Conditional Access Solution for Skype for Business
New module enables conditional access verification based on device compliance with leading MDM vendors and adds another authentication factor based on MDM user identity.
JERUSALEM, July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
SkypeShield, an innovative enterprise solution that secures external Skype for Business (Lync) access and authentication, has launched a new Mobile Device Management (MDM) Conditional Access Solution for Skype for Business.
The new MDM conditional access feature verifies that only mobile devices compliant with the company's security policy, as defined by the MDM, can sign in to Skype for Business.
MDM Conditional Access is compatible with AirWatch, MobileIron, MaaS360 and XenMobile, and is soon expected to support GOOD.
SkypeShield's solution validates that devices are MDM compliant before permitting Skype for Business sign-in. Once a device becomes Out Of Compliance, its Skype for Business session is terminated automatically and access is immediately blocked. Devices that are jailbroken, rooted or have their MDM client removed will automatically lose their access to Skype for Business.
During the sign-in process, and throughout the Skype session, SkypeShield verifies that the device is listed as a valid device on the MDM server and is not listed as Out Of Compliance.
SkypeShield leverages the MDM device owner identity to add another security factor to the authentication process. Based on this capability, SkypeShield now offers a no-password Single Sign On authentication by trusting the MDM identity for the authentication.
"Following the great success of our MDM Binding Solution, which enables corporate clients to restrict workers to using Skype for Business on managed devices only, we received requests for a direct integration solution to complement it," said Guy Eldan, CEO of AGAT Software, which developed SkypeShield.
"By implementing this module, organizations can verify that only devices that are compliant with company security policy and are managed by the company can use Skype for Business. It also adds more security to the authentication process."
