Skyline's DirectFED, the industry's premier Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) software supplier and creator of CheckAlt™, the company's proprietary e-check transaction processor engine, has processed more than eight million checks totaling more than $6 billion in transactions. The company's RDC system reduces the impact of paper checks by completing transactions electronically; and CheckAlt e-check payment service eliminates the use of paper altogether.
With CheckAlt, payments are safe and secure. Drawing on the strength of solid and reliable processing, coupled with unique risk management features, CheckAlt helps mitigate losses associated with accepting automated clearing house (ACH) transaction payments governed by NACHA.
"We recognize that our patented payment solutions offer businesses and consumers greater efficiency as well as green advantages," said Jeff Korbin, executive vice president of Skyline's DirectFED Payment Solutions. "As part of our ongoing sustainability initiative, we have agreed to become a contributing member of NACHA's PayItGreen, supporting its mission to reduce paper's impact on the environment by promoting electronic billing, statements, and payments to further reduce the environmental impact of paper in the financial system."
If Skyline's DirectFED reaches its 2010 goal of one billion checks processed for its client base, the company would*:
- Save 36.9 pounds of paper and 442,800 trees
- Avoid producing 483.7 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions -- the equivalent of:
- The emissions avoided by not consuming 24.7 gallons of gasoline
- Planting two tree seedlings and allowing them to grow for 10 years
- Preserving 24 square feet of forestland
