Tan brings over twenty years of global operations and supply chain expertise to Skyera. Before joining Skyera, Tan was the senior director of worldwide operations and worldwide sales operations at Micron where he conceived and implemented innovative processes that significantly improved inventory turns, customer delivery performance, and cost reduction in overall supply chain and manufacturing operations. Prior to Micron, Tan spent 13 years at Creative Labs as vice president of operations, directly managing remote manufacturing facilities in several countries and supporting revenue growth to over $1 billion. Tan's first order of business is to increase manufacturing capacity and build additional inventory to reduce lead time and backlog for the pent up demand for skyHawk.
"After successfully debuting skyHawk last year and making it available to enterprise customers last November as part of our Early Access Program, we are eagerly anticipating the roll out of volume shipments to fulfill the surprisingly high demand," said Radoslav Danilak, CEO of Skyera. "Adding Ken to our executive team and leveraging his diverse operations expertise will ensure a smooth process and a keen focus on customer satisfaction as we ramp to general availability of skyHawk."
Tan graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Singapore.
The skyHawk series of enterprise solid-state storage systems, priced at an industry breakthrough price point of less than $3 per gigabyte, mark the first time that the latest generation 19/20nm solid-state technology can be used as a direct replacement for traditional enterprise hard disk-based systems.
Skyera's skyHawk has received industry acclaim as a visionary and innovative product, substantiating Skyera's approach to mainstream enterprise solid-state storage. Its SEOS™ solid-state operating system combines hardware, storage and data management into a unified solution that provides top performance, cost and power consumption attributes.
