SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Aussie hitmakers SKYBOMBERS are back and are preparing for a return to the U.S. armed with a new album and national tour. BLACK CAROUSEL, the follow up to their debut Take Me To Town (which spawned the bona fide alt radio hit "It Goes Off"), was produced and recorded in Los Angeles with Rick Parker (BRMC, Von Bondies). Since their auspicious debut, Skybombers' lineup has expanded and their sound has evolved. The band now consists of core trio Sam Bethune (vocals, guitar), Hugh Gurney (guitar, vocals) and Scott Mc Murtrie (drums) plus Will Brown (bass) and Luke Carlson (Keyboards). The first single to radio is "Lies" and will be available as a digital download on March 3rd. BLACK CAROUSEL will be released on 429 Records March 29th. Nationwide tour begins on April 1st in Los Angeles.

The founding members of Skybombers are Melbourne lads who met in high school, cut a demo and soon found themselves signed with legendary Australian label Albert Productions (AC/DC)—a move that catapulted them onto the world stage. In the U.S., their first single, "It Goes Off" was a hit at modern rock / alternative outlets including LA's Indie 103.1 which put the Skybombers in high rotation. Their fan base grew exponentially as tours with X and Flogging Molly followed. Says lead vocalist Hugh Gurney: "Much has changed since our last tours way back in 2008. With this album and the expanded lineup we have broadened our sonic landscape and our live show and can deliver a sound we have long been seeking and can only now truly deliver. 'Lies' captures the excitement of the band perfectly!"
