Skid Row Celebrates Easter Saturday at the Fred Jordan Mission

Hundreds of poor children will receive Easter baskets full of toys and Easter candy while also enjoying face painting and balloon animals at the Fred Jordan Mission's Annual Easter Party.

Volunteers from all over the Southland will be serving delicious BBQ chicken lunches to hundreds of homeless men, women and children.

Willie Jordan, President of Fred Jordan Mission, will lead the guests in a joyous Easter service filled with the Resurrection story and inspirational music.

Blankets and food bags filled with fresh fruits and vegetables will be given to every family.

Los Angeles has the most chronically homeless people in the nation and most recently saw a 12% surge in people living on the streets to more than 44,000 homeless people countywide. There is renewed attention to homelessness as the problem has become increasingly visible on Los Angeles streets, triggering new calls for action.
