Skal International USA Sends 27 Delegates to 77th Skal International World Congress in Monaco
WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Skål International USA, the only international organization bringing together sectors of the travel and tourism industry while networking, conducting business and helping communities locally, nationally and internationally, has achieved a record number of recognitions among all Skal National Committees represented during the recent Skal International World Congress held in Monte Carlo, Monaco at the beginning of this month.
Among the total Skal delegates attending the World Congress from across the globe, Skal USA was represented by 27 local club delegates and National Board representatives SKAL USA President John Mavros, SKAL International Councilor Cyndi Golden, SKAL USA Region I VP Jim Dwyer and SKAL USA Region IV VP Burcin Turkkan.
The highlight of the Annual General Meeting was the award ceremony for SKAL Club of the Year. Seven Skal Clubs from around the globe were nominated for SKAL Club of the Year Award, with SKAL USA being the only National Committee to have three nominees: SKAL Jacksonville (Florida), SKAL Little Rock (Arkansas) and SKAL Atlantic City (New Jersey). SKAL Little Rock was awarded the Third Place Award along with the Gold Plaque for achieving over 20% increase in their membership in 2015. SKAL Boise (Idaho) was awarded with Platinum award for achieving over 30% of increase in their membership in 2015. SKAL USA Region IV VP Burcin Turkkan was also presented with the Merit Award by SI President Nigel Pilkington and the SI Executive Committee for her leadership and work accomplished on the Young SKAL 2020 Committee.
