Largest Swedish Train Operator Deploys OpenText EIM Solutions to Enhance Organizational Efficiencies and Reduce Costs
WATERLOO, ON, Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) solutions, today announced that SJ AB, the largest train operator in Sweden, has signed an agreement to deploy OpenText software to help improve the quality and overall effectiveness of its business processes.
To help ensure that required documentation is reliable and integrated into the core business processes, SJ will be replacing its legacy document and case management systems with a solution based on the OpenText ECM suite, part of OpenText's Enterprise Information Management (EIM) strategy, which provides comprehensive information governance and compliance capabilities. OpenText's solution will provide SJ with a highly functional and less expensive way to process controlled documents, such as standard operating procedures, in a controlled and compliant way. Examples of content that SJ plans to manage with OpenText's EIM solutions include engine driver checklists and safety regulations in which electronic signatures will be offered.
"OpenText's ECM solutions are exactly what we need to help us get on the right track," said Björn Rosell, CIO, SJ AB. "Our vision is to become more effective by storing information in one place, so that it can be integrated into our processes. We expect OpenText's software to reduce the amount of time it takes to manage and retrieve information, as well as eliminate confusion about relevant versions. OpenText's software also gives us the flexibility to meet our vision for mobile access to this content in the near future. We are excited at the prospects of what OpenText will help us to achieve in the months to come."
OpenText EIM helps organizations work more efficiently, improve the optimization of complex processes, and outperform their business goals with real-time business insight. OpenText EIM includes information governance solutions designed to reduce legal, compliance and financial risks through a combination of records management, and archiving for all types of content. Information security solutions for ensuring confidentiality, privacy and access control as well as solutions that help manage the explosive growth of content organizations are faced with today are also included.
"SJ AB is just one of the many organizations around the world that are realizing the demonstrated value of OpenText's EIM solutions to their infrastructure, their customer relations, and to the overall health of their organization," said Greg Corgan, OpenText's executive vice president, worldwide field operations. "We are thrilled that SJ has chosen to deploy OpenText to help in its process of improving the overall efficiencies of their railroad operations and we wish them much luck in their transformation."
