SAUSALITO, Calif., July 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sitecore®, the global leader in experience management software, today announced that Mark Frost has joined as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1. Frost will define the company's direction and further scale the Sitecore business, leveraging its leading technology solutions in the highly attractive markets for web content management, commerce, and digital marketing software.
He will succeed Co-Founder Michael Seifert, who has been working closely with the board to help drive this change. Seifert will join the Board of Directors and will work closely with the new CEO to define Sitecore's product and technology strategy. Frost will be based in Sitecore's offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.
"Together with Michael, the Board worked to bring in a CEO to drive the next phase of growth for Sitecore. Mark's proven track record in scaling large software organizations and his vast experience in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market are perfectly suited to help drive Sitecore through its next high-growth phase," said Jonas Persson, Sitecore Board Chairman. "Additionally, with Mark taking over the CEO agenda, Michael will be able to focus on what he loves to do most – helping drive strategy that leads to revolutionary software."
"After 15 years of steering Sitecore to a world-leading position in experience management software, I'm excited to pass the baton and am confident that Mark is the right person to lead Sitecore into its next chapter. His competencies around strategy and leadership, combined with his remarkable experience in scaling software businesses, make him the ideal fit for Sitecore," said Seifert. "Furthermore, his experience and passion for solving customer problems while driving category and product leadership directly aligns with the company´s culture and my vision for Sitecore's future."
Frost has more than 20 years of experience building and scaling cloud business models for enterprise software companies and has a proven track record of driving business transformations and category leadership. Most recently, he served as CEO of MarkMonitor, a leader in enterprise brand protection, where he drove record topline growth and customer acquisition. He ultimately completed a sale of the company, which was part of the IP&S division of Thomson Reuters, in October 2016.
Prior to that, Frost served as General Manager for the SaaS Business Unit of CA Technologies, where he was part of the Global Leadership Team and responsible for pioneering and leading the transformation to SaaS for this $4.2B IT management software company. He also served as EVP and General Manager for the SaaS Business Unit of MarketTools, where his efforts accelerated time-to-market and resulted in a more than 90 percent customer satisfaction score for this enterprise feedback management and market research leader.
"Sitecore is at an exciting stage, and I see tremendous opportunity ahead with our leading technology offerings in the highly attractive web content management, commerce, and digital marketing spaces," said Frost, CEO of Sitecore. "The company has had explosive growth, and Michael and the team should be incredibly proud of what they have built. I look forward to working with the leadership team to continue that momentum and build on the foundation of world-class technology, fanatical customers, and strong partners to propel us to the next level."
