Site of popular Poppy's Restaurant in Vidalia set for auction -- one of more than 60 real estate offerings statewide

ATLANTA, Feb. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Poppy's Restaurant was once one of Vidalia's favorite places to go for good food and nightlife. And it may soon have a new life, after the lakeside property is sold at auction on Tuesday, March 1.

The auction, set for 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Augusta, will be the final event in a series of three featuring more than 60 property groupings from around Georgia, as well as Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina. The first event will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at the John Dixon & Associates headquarters at 200 Cobb Parkway North, Suite 120, Marietta. It will include approximately 4.47 acres of commercial land on Scenic Highway in Snellville, golf course lots in Cumming, and a general store and service station in Dahlonega.

The second event, set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, in McDonough, Georgia, will feature medical office buildings in Columbus, as well as tracts of commercial land Jenkinsburg, Hampton, Perry, Decatur, Ellenwood and Atlanta.
