SiSense Wins Quarter Million Dollar Prize, Takes Top Honor in "Take the H.E.L.M." Competition
New York City Economic Development Corporation recognizes SiSense as most promising company
NEW YORK, November 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
SiSense, the Big Data Analytics Company, today announced that it is winner of the global "Take the H.E.L.M." competition, along with its $250,000 prize. The competition is held by the NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to encourage the most promising and innovative companies to make Lower Manhattan their home. The win comes just days after SiSense CTO Eldad Farkash won the World Technology Award for his invention of In-Chip big data analytics.
SiSense, which recorded 520% growth, recently opened its North American headquarters on Wall Street in Lower Manhattan. The fast-growing company counts among its customers global brands including Target and Merck, as well as hot startups such as Wix.
More than 300 companies from the U.S. and around the world applied for the H.E.L.M. award. The judges were looking for companies that could contribute most to the economic development of Lower Manhattan. The selection committee included venture capitalists, former SEC chair Arthur Levitt, bankers and the President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
"We are honored," says SiSense CEO Amit Bendov. "Lower Manhattan is a fantastic place to run a hyper-growth global business, with excellent transportation, plenty of affordable office space, an under-utilized talent pool, and proximity to the world's largest companies.
"The competition is part of an incredible effort to revitalize Lower Manhattan after 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy," added Bendov. "With our tremendous growth and high demand for our big data analytics solution, we look forward to creating hundreds of new jobs."
"The Take the H.E.L.M. competition is really about two things: transforming New York City into the most competitive city in the planet, and propelling Lower Manhattan forward into the next stage of incredible rebirth," said NYCEDC President Kyle Kimball.
