LEXINGTON, Ky., May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SIS, a leading technology solutions provider, announced that Kirsten Craft, Executive Vice President, Software and Consulting is featured in a panel discussion for the University of Kentucky Entrepreneurship Colloquia Series.
UK's Entrepreneurship Colloquia Series is sponsored by UK iNet, a new university-wide, interdisciplinary academic initiative which is part of the college of Communications & Information Studies. Dean Dan O'Hair moderates the E-Colloquium panel discussions. Panelists are also involved in UK iNet as members of the Board of Advisors.
In the third E-Colloquium, Kirsten participates in a discussion with fellow panelists Randall Stevens, CEO of Punndit, and Kris Kimel, President of the Kentucky Science & Technology Corporation. The panelists discuss why failure is so important to entrepreneurship and share their experiences with learning from failures quickly and cheaply. They agree that entrepreneurship is not only a way of thinking, but also a process and often happens at the intersection of disciplines. The recent growth in entrepreneurship in Kentucky is also discussed.
"Entrepreneurship is a critical topic for the continued growth of companies and associated job rates in Kentucky. The concept of entrepreneurship is not just for start-ups - it is a vital skill set and frame of mind for future leaders of existing companies, as well. I applaud the University of Kentucky for playing a leadership role in encouraging the development of this important concept set among our college graduates," said Kirsten.
The E-Colloquium will be shown on Lexington cable channel 16 at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday through May 17th. The complete series is also available at http://cis.uky.edu/inet/node/11
