As Europe's largest annual event devoted to data warehousing, advanced analytics and business intelligence, the conference will feature presentations from keynote speaker Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web and Adam Gade, vice president and chief information officer of Maersk Line. In an opening address, Mike Koehler, president and chief executive officer of Teradata, will outline Teradata's business strategy at a time when Teradata is shaping the future of analytics.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee will discuss 'The Data Revolution', the next step as he sees it in the development of the internet, whilst Stephen Brobst, chief technology officer, Teradata, will highlight why experimentation is the key to business success. He will discuss how consumer intelligence and big data management is evolving and how this benefits the consumer through the more interactive use of mobile devices.
In addition, there will be over 20 presentations from Teradata customers and experts delivered over the three days, including talks from AT&T, Bank of America, Centrica, LinkedIn and Telefonica. These organisations will provide deep insights into their data warehousing and business intelligence practices, illustrating how to successfully deal with the pressures and opportunities of applying analytics to the volumes and variety of data types.
There will be a key focus on the use of analytic data solutions across the utilities and automotive sectors, both industries facing challenges that require real-time analysis of unprecedented volumes of new and emerging types of data. In the utilities industry, advanced analytics are being used to manage the extensive amount of data collected on the smart grid, whilst car manufacturers are leveraging big data analytics to manage product quality on a global scale.
In Teradata's consulting lounges, guests will have the opportunity to comfortably discuss data warehousing and business analytics topics with Teradata experts as well as select Teradata partners. One-to-one meetings can be booked upon request.
At the Expo area, located on the ground floor of the CCD, guests will have the opportunity to experience a variety of Teradata's business partners and get hands-on demonstrations of applications and solutions from across Teradata, including data warehousing, integrated marketing management and big data analytics. The capabilities of Teradata Aster and Aprimo, a Teradata company, further enhance Teradata's capabilities and enable customers to improve their competitive advantage and gain deeper insights into their business.
"The capability to manage and draw business value by applying big data analytics is becoming mission-critical for companies," said Hermann Wimmer, President Europe, Middle East and Africa for Teradata.
