SIOA Applauds Church's Decision to Stop Sale of Convent to Islamic Supremacist Group

NEW YORK, July 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The human rights group Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) today applauded a decision by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and Saint Margaret Mary parish on Staten Island to withdraw support for the sale of the parish convent to the Muslim American Society (MAS). The sale will not go through.

SIOA Executive Director Pamela Geller said in a statement: "Congratulations to all the free citizens of Staten Island who stood against this Islamic supremacist mosque project despite official indifference and harsh criticism from the mainstream media. This is now a textbook case on how to fight Islamic supremacists."

SIOA has published a practical guide for activists who wish to fight against terror-linked and Islamic supremacist mosques in their localities, and is in the process of expanding this guide. The church's decision today demonstrates that such activism can be successful.

One of the foremost elements of this activism involves bringing to popular attention the Islamic supremacist and/or terror ties of the mosque leaders.

At a community meeting on June 9, SIOA Associate Director Robert Spencer challenged Muslim American Society spokesmen on the group's status as an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood and MAS leader Mahdi Bray's declared support for the jihad terrorist groups Hamas and Hizballah.

While the MAS spokesmen denied links to any "foreign entity," the Muslim Brotherhood's own website has republished the Chicago Tribune expose from 2004 that identifies the MAS as the Brotherhood's arm in the U.S.

The Tribune, via the Muslim Brotherhood's English-language website, Ikhwanweb, reported: "In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews."

The Muslim Brotherhood is an avowedly subversive organization.
