Single Parent Resource Center's Fall Fete 2014 To Honor Deane And John Gilliam
NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Single Parent Resource Center ("SPRC"), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping New York City's single parent families survive and thrive, will honor Deane and John Gilliam during its annual Fall Fete on October 16, 2014. "For almost 40 years, SPRC has helped single parent families in New York City cope with the multitude of issues they face. The families served range from all walks of life, including those in transitional housing, to families struggling with drug, alcohol or gambling addictions, to families where a parent has been incarcerated," says Rosemarie E. Dackerman, Executive Director of SPRC.
"For all of these families, SPRC provides pragmatic programs designed to strengthen family relationships, improve parenting skills, promote healthier lifestyles and reduce abuse and neglect. Our current offerings include (among many others): The Single Fathers' Program, the Mothers' Support Group, Single Parents in Recovery, the Kids' Club, and the Youth Leadership Program. SPRC also serves as an advocate for single parent families within the community," says Ms. Dackerman.
"Deane and John Gilliam understand and support the important work done by the SPRC, and they have been instrumental in helping us build our capabilities and programs. Their leadership and concern for New York's at-risk single parent families has fostered new partnerships and services. The SPRC is delighted to honor them at our upcoming Fall Fete," says Ms. Dackerman.
