SimpliPhi Power Welcomes Solar and Energy Storage Veteran Dean Middleton as Vice President of Sales
OJAI, Calif., April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SimpliPhi Power continues to expand its executive team and has hired energy storage and renewables sales veteran Dean Middleton as vice president of sales. Middleton brings over 20 years experience in the global sales and export of lead acid energy storage, photovoltaic and solar thermal systems for both on and off grid applications. Middleton joins the SimpliPhi team from his tenure at battery manufacturer Trojan Battery Company to lead sales for SimpliPhi's cobalt-free Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) storage solutions. Middleton will apply his extensive knowledge and skills in the design, supply and installation of photovoltaic systems to broaden the global distribution channels and strategic partnerships for SimpliPhi.
"Dean is a renewables specialist who understands SimpliPhi's customer base really well, having worked on the manufacturing, distribution and installation sides of the business over many years," said Catherine Von Burg, CEO of SimpliPhi Power. "His working knowledge of the industry combined with his trustworthy reputation and passion for our safe, non-toxic LFP battery technology promises to accelerate SimpliPhi's global expansion. We are thrilled to have him on board."
Prior to joining SimpliPhi, Middleton held senior sales roles at Trojan Battery Company where he was responsible for managing Trojan's key sales initiatives for renewable energy markets globally through its network of distributors and direct accounts. Before Trojan, Middleton served as export sales manager for SunWize Technologies, Inc., where he led the company's wholesale export of photovoltaic systems throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and provided sales and technical support to local solar dealers and government agencies. During his stay the company saw its dealer network expand to more than 25 countries. As international sales manager for Applied Power Inc. from 1995 to 2001, Middleton expanded its global dealer network in more than 10 countries.
"The SimpliPhi team has done a tremendous job creating, refining and proving-out their storage solution in the field over the last decade," commented Middleton. "With its longer life cycle, increased usable capacity and smaller footprint than the competition, SimpliPhi's solutions are proving invaluable in applications ranging from grid-tied backup and off-grid to demanding mobile military systems. I am bringing my passion and dedication to renewables to the team, along with the expertise to bolster the company's growth with price points that will only get better as we scale."
