Simon Business School Hosts Annual Women's Conference
Annual Event Empowers Women to Succeed in Business
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Simon Business School at the University of Rochester will welcome current and prospective MBA students and alumni to its annual Women's Conference on November 9, 2018. Attendees will learn about opportunities for women in business, gain important leadership skills, and hear from distinguished leaders about helping women succeed in the workforce.
Empowering women to succeed in business is a top priority at Simon, which was ranked 13th in the US on Financial Times' list of "Top MBAs for Women." Simon's partnership with the Forté Foundation helps launch women into meaningful, successful careers in business, and Simon Women in Business provides support and networking opportunities for students and alumnae.
"We know that diversity in business benefits everyone, so giving women the support and tools that will empower them to succeed is a priority for us here at Simon," says Dean Andrew Ainslie. "The Women's Conference offers the chance to see Simon's commitment to women first-hand."
"Advancing women in business is central to our school's DNA," says Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Rebekah Lewin, who also serves on the Forté Foundation school advisory board and is a former member of its board of directors. "This event exemplifies Simon's commitment to increasing the number of women in business leadership roles by providing female students and alumnae with top-notch education, a supportive culture, and the best business connections the world has to offer."
The conference will feature a women's leadership panel, where attendees can ask questions and network with distinguished business professionals from employers such as Microsoft, Kraft Heinz, Monitor Deloitte Strategy Consulting, and the NY State Office of the Attorney General. The conference will feature a talk by this year's Women in Leadership keynote speaker Joanne Lipman, author of That's What She Said: What Men Need to Know (and Women Need to Tell Them) About Working Together, and a dinner keynote address at the Strathallan Hotel by Sheffali Welch, a Simon alumna who is the former managing director and COO of Wealth Management Americas at Deutsche Bank.
Other sessions will focus on lifestyle architecture, networking with mentors, and being the only woman in the room. A full agenda can be found here: http://www.simon.rochester.edu/programs/full-time-mba/visit-us/on-campus-events/womens-conference/agenda/index.aspx
