Silvercar Covers the Lone Star State, Fourth Location to Open at Houston Hobby
Fast-Growing Car Rental Start-Up Adds New Texas Location July 1
DALLAS, June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Silvercar announced today plans for its fourth operation, with service available to inbound Houston travelers at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) beginning July 1, 2013. Bookings for July 1 travel will be available on www.silvercar.com and the Silvercar mobile apps beginning June 18. The first-of-its-kind, app-based car rental company adds Houston Hobby to its service offerings after a January 2013 launch at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and rapid expansion to Dallas Love Field and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
"Our customers tell us that intra-Texas travel is important, and Houston Hobby provides that access as a travel hub serving the largest city in Texas. Plus Hobby features a strong list of carriers including Southwest," said Silvercar CEO Luke Schneider. "Starting and growing in Texas have been integral to the early success Silvercar has experienced, as the state is good for business. It's fantastic to expand our services to reach more travelers. If you need to travel to or in Texas, we've got you covered."
With headquarters in Austin, Silvercar is on a mission to reimagine the car rental experience. Silvercar operates a single make-and-model rental fleet of 2013 Audi A4s (in silver, of course). All A4s are equipped with Google Earth GPS navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, in-car Wi-Fi and a toll tag at no additional charge. Silvercar is offering an introductory rate in Houston of $75 weekdays and $50 weekends.
Beyond the Audi A4, Silvercar eliminates common pain points from the rental experience through mobile integration. Each step in the Silvercar customer journey is managed from a smartphone. Silvercar customers book their Audi with the Silvercar app (iOS and Android). Upon arrival, they are valeted by a Silvercar concierge to the Silvercar facility where they unlock any Silvercar with their smartphone (via a QR code) and drive away. The seamless, integrated process is reversed for departure as travelers are valeted back to the airport for curbside drop-off, receiving their receipt on their phone before they board their plane home.
Silvercar has service available at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Dallas Love Field, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in addition to the new Houston Hobby location. Travelers visiting Houston can book reservations via the Silvercar mobile app for iOS or Android.
