Silldorf & Levine's Howard Silldorf Served as Distinguished Speaker at CAI National Conference

SAN DIEGO, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Silldorf & Levine, LLP partner Howard Silldorf recently served as a member of the Distinguished Speakers Club for the Community Associations Institute (CAI) 59th National Conference and Exposition April 28-May 1, 2010 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.  Mr. Silldorf's presentation was entitled, "Preventative Medicine for Homeowners Associations: Effective Records Management to Reduce Cost and Liability."

The focus of the presentation was on how preventative legal medicine for homeowners associations helps to minimize liability risks and reduce costs of litigation that are threatening the life of associations.  Each day, associations face a potential life threatening legal "disease" from lawsuits which have grown enormously over the last decade.  Mr. Silldorf discussed how legal and membership requirements can be satisfied by proper record retention for all aspects of association management.  He offered suggestions to conference attendees regarding different methods for records storage.  Mr. Silldorf explains, "Proper record keeping and preventative maintenance strengthens the health of an association and reduces liability risks and litigation costs."    

Mr. Silldorf invited Jon Wayne, CEO of Jon Wayne Construction and Consulting to co-present with him at the conference.  Mr. Wayne focused his presentation on how delaying maintenance and large repairs leads to increased repair costs, resultant collateral damage and increased homeowner claims if an association is found to be negligent in repairs.

Mr. Silldorf and Mr. Wayne plan to offer their unique presentation to management companies and homeowners associations in the Southern California area during the remainder of this year.
