Signs, Stickers, and Students Against Destructive Decisions
MyParkingSign Supports Maize High School in No Text and Drive Campaign
NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, January 16th at 2:30pm Maize High School will reveal MyParkingSign's donated "no texting and driving" signs during its school assembly. Students will discuss the importance of avoiding distracted driving and receive "Pls Dnt Txt + Drive" stickers as a safety reminder. This is the 10th no texting and driving campaign supported by MyParkingSign.
"It is important for our Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter to get the message out there about the dangers of texting and driving. My students say they see too many of their friends, family and other adults doing it and putting every one's lives in danger," said Dana Desjardins, Maize High School SADD Sponsor. "They elected to bring awareness to their school for the whole week instead of just a day in January which is our Character in Action month – Self Discipline. So from January 13th-17th we will have activities all week promoting No Texting and Driving!"
Maize High School's SADD chapter received support from MyParkingSign, Davis Moore Chevy, Single Source, and Allstate. The event will be featured in Maize High School's Parent Newsletter, Student Play Magazine, MHS Yearbook, MHS SADD Facebook, Maize District and MHS SADD Twitter and Instagram. There are approximately 1,350 students enrolled in Maize High School.
Blair Brewster, CEO of MyParkingSign, said, "Supporting our 10th campaign against texting and driving is a real milestone for us. If even one child puts down their cellphone while driving due to our safety reminder stickers, then I am satisfied with the success of our donations."
SADD's mission is "to provide students with the best prevention tools possible to deal with the issues of ... risky and impaired driving and other destructive decisions." With nearly 10,000 chapters, SADD impacts thousands of young teens across the United States.
