Sign of the times: Bayer polycarbonate sheet products for eye-catching commercial signage
LAS VEGAS, April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In today's competitive marketplace, companies are always looking for eye-catching ways to differentiate their businesses. Bayer MaterialScience LLC offers a range of polycarbonate sheet for a variety of signage applications that can help organizations do just that.
Bayer's broad selection of Makrolon® polycarbonate sheet material can meet the rigorous requirements of channel letters and other thermoformed applications. Bayer, a full-service sheet supplier to the sign industry, will highlight a family of engineered polycarbonate sheet products for signage at the ISA International Sign Expo 2015 being held April 8-11 in Las Vegas. Here's a preview.
- Makrolon® LD polycarbonate sheet: This material is designed with an advanced light diffusion technology that provides excellent light uniformity without sacrificing light transmission. The product's proprietary diffuser technology eliminates visible hot spots from pinpoint LED lights in typical flat and formed sign applications. Makrolon® LD is easy to form, fabricate and decorate, and has excellent impact strength and dimensional stability. The product's UV resistance technology assures long-lasting outdoor weathering performance. Applications include flat and formed sign faces, channel letters and lighting fixture covers.
- Makrolon® SL polycarbonate sheet: This enhanced UV-resistant product offers exceptional weatherability and superior impact strength. It is available in a variety of sheet and reel sizes and also meets the UL 879 standard for electrical signage. Applications include flat and formed sign faces. At its booth Bayer will also showcase a matte-finish grade of Makrolon® SL sheet, which is ideal for adding a non-glare appearance to high-performance signage.
- Makrolon® AR polycarbonate sheet: This durable and transparent sheet expands design and application options. With a hard coated surface, this product offers abrasion resistance for applications that need frequent cleaning or are located in high-traffic areas. Because it also offers anti-graffiti protection, Makrolon® AR sheet is well suited for indoor and outdoor kiosks and signs in airports, hotels and other public facilities.
ISA International Sign Expo 2015 attendees will have the opportunity to see some of Bayer's polycarbonate sheet products at booth #1528. Bayer's booth will illustrate the versatility of polycarbonate sheet with tabletops of Makrolon® AR sheet resting on a reel core that is faced with Makrolon® LD polycarbonate sheet. The Makrolon® LD sheet will be lit from within to demonstrate its superior light diffusion characteristics and high light transmission.
A supplier of extruded thermoplastic sheet products for more than 60 years, Bayer offers an extensive stocking inventory and full range of standard industry colors. In addition to signage, the company's broad portfolio of Makrolon polycarbonate sheet products has been proven in the architectural, security, transportation, industrial and recreational markets.
