Sigma-Aldrich Announces Appointment of Magnus Borg as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO)
ST. LOUIS, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sigma-Aldrich® Corporation (Nasdaq: SIAL) is pleased to announce that Magnus Borg has been named Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective August 16, 2010. In his new role, Borg will lead the Company's global information systems function and will report to Rakesh Sachdev, Sr. Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer.
Borg (age 50) brings over two decades of senior IT management experience to Sigma-Aldrich, including significant operations and sales development experience in the U.S. and abroad. Born and raised in Sweden, he has enjoyed a successful career with leading global companies including Ericsson, SEB Bank, Svensk Bilprovning and Safety-Kleen. He held the CIO posts for Ericsson North America and Safety-Kleen. Borg's wealth of relevant global experience and diverse technical knowledge are expected to help him accelerate the continuous improvement of Sigma-Aldrich's information technology and customer service capabilities to most fully meet customer and shareholder needs.
