Siemens Factory Begins Operations in Bahrain
MANAMA, Bahrain, Oct. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- German engineering company, Siemens, began operations at its new manufacturing and service facility in Bahrain yesterday, reports Gulf Daily News. The plant will manufacture and service machines used in steel making, rolling mills and power plants for the Gulf and around the world.
"With Siemens now coming, preferring Bahrain over the region's other countries, it is hoped they will be the magnet to attract other well-known global brands," said Industry Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro.
This is a huge step for Bahrain given the firm's global reputation and will hopefully inspire other companies to invest in the growing country, continued the Gulf Daily News report.
"Every country in the world has a wish list of companies they would like to attract to step up new manufacturing operations in their respective territories and I am sure Siemens is always at the top or very close to the top of all these lists," said Dr. Fakhro.
