Siemens Enterprise Communications Scores Highest Overall in Enterprise Connect Mock RFP: "UC Without Buying a New PBX" for Second Consecutive Year
OpenScape delivers comprehensive mobile UC solution; amplifyTEAMS Now! simplifies UC adoption
RESTON, Va., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, the Siemens Enterprise Communications response has received the highest overall score in the Request for Proposal (RFP) session "UC Without a New PBX" presented at the Enterprise Connect 2013 Conference in Orlando. Responses were rated on architecture, functionality and price, with functionality including features for UC client, mobility, conferencing, CEBP, IM and presence/federation. Siemens Enterprise Communications' OpenScape received strong scores in most categories with the top score overall.
The RFP was designed by UniComm Consulting to discover what leading UC vendors can offer when a customer is implementing unified communications (UC) without deploying a new PBX. UniComm Consulting designed this RFP to showcase the fact that UC can be deployed without a new PBX, and thereby can deliver improved returns on investment. Seven competitors responded to the RFP for 2,000 users.
"Our mock RFP exercise at Enterprise Connect lets prospective UC customers look at multiple UC vendors to assess how their offerings may address their specific business needs," said Marty Parker, Principal, UniComm Consulting. "Siemens Enterprise Communications OpenScape solution received strong ratings in a number of categories, showing it can provide a very solid solution for UC without a new PBX for many enterprise customer situations."
"Achieving the highest overall score in this RFP, and scoring well in the other Enterprise Connect mock RFPs, shows the breadth of Siemens Enterprise Communications OpenScape solution and reinforces the fact we are committed to delivering cost effective and innovative solutions to our customers, in particular in the areas of mobility and integration with critical business processes," said Rick Puskar, Senior Vice President of Global Portfolio Management, Siemens Enterprise Communications. "Siemens Enterprise Communications is committed to accelerating customer adoption of truly unified communications practices, as reflected through our recent introduction of amplifyTEAMS Now!, and we continue to provide customers with the tools and deployment options to dramatically improve team collaboration."
