Siemens Enterprise Communications Announces U.S. Department of Defense Certification for OpenScape Voice V6
RESTON, Va., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens Enterprise Communications announced today that the company's OpenScape Voice V6 has been approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) as a private branch exchange (PBX) and added to their Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL).
The OpenScape Voice V6 Certification, awarded January 26, 2012, was based on both Information Assurance (security) and Interoperability Testing. The security testing was performed by Defense Information System Agency (DISA)-led Information Assurance teams. The Interoperability Testing was conducted by the Joint Information Test Command (JITC) Global Information Grid Network Test Facility at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.
Achieving certification required Siemens Enterprise Communications to implement dual-stack IPv4/IPv6, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)-protected interfaces and advanced endpoint encryption modules for the company's OpenStage telephones. These capabilities are also important to cloud service partners and their customers in the U.S. federal market.
OpenScape Voice V6 joins other innovative products from Siemens Enterprise Communications and its sister company, Enterasys Networks, that have also earned JITC certification. This includes the HiPath 4000 and five series of data infrastructure switches from Enterasys.
