"Healthcare reform is a change-agent that will touch nearly every individual involved in patient care," said John Glaser, PhD, CEO, Health Services Business Unit, Siemens Healthcare. "The healthcare technology that is selected today can enable providers to deliver exceptional, and ultimately transformative, care. However, it is crucial for organizations to clearly visualize not just their immediate needs, but also the future challenges they may face. Health IT is one solution to address future objectives such as overcoming organizational boundaries, and improving the way providers integrate, communicate and collaborate to deliver exceptional care to their patients."
At the heart of clinical health IT is a need for systems that help providers manage the business of healthcare, enabling organizational efficiency and empowering clinicians to make more informed and timely decisions. Among many other solutions, Siemens will feature Soarian, which utilizes embedded workflow technology, a future-forward design, and powerful analytical capabilities that enable healthcare organizations to plan and respond to the demands of delivering exceptional healthcare. Soarian, with functionality that supports clinical documentation, revenue cycle management, computerized physician order entry, and medication administration and management, has been designed as a scalable solution. This scalability allows Siemens to deliver these solutions to an increasing number of providers and provider organizations, helping them address the complex and dynamic changes that are underway in healthcare.
