Mr. Gallegos has over 22 years of experience, in both land and offshore contract drilling. He was a founder of Sidewinder and has served as Senior Vice President & CFO since the Company's inception. In his new role Mr. Gallegos will continue to lead Sidewinder's financial, accounting, risk management and supply chain functions, and he will assume responsibility for the safety, operational performance and financial performance of the Company.
From April 2006 through September 2010, Mr. Gallegos held the position of Vice President of Business Development for Scorpion Offshore, an international offshore drilling contractor which was acquired by Seadrill Ltd. in 2010. Prior to joining Scorpion Offshore, he held operational, marketing, corporate planning and management positions with Atwood Oceanics, Transocean and Ensco. From August 2005 through June 2011 Mr. Humphries was a Senior Vice President of Bronco Drilling Company, a US land contract driller. In 2011 Bronco was acquired by NOMAC Drilling, a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, and he served as Director of New Rig Technology for NOMAC Drilling. Prior to Bronco, Mr. Humphries worked for Thomas Drilling Company for 23 years in positions of increasing operations management responsibilities. Prior to Thomas, he worked for nine years at Ratliff Drilling Company beginning as a roughneck and working his way to rig management.
"The leadership, experience and expertise of Anthony and Bruce have been instrumental in Sidewinder's success. Their achievements include large-scale undertakings such as the integration of our acquisition of Union Drilling, our day-to-day operations and financial reporting as well as our initiatives to reduce downtime and improve safety," said Jon Cole, Sidewinder's Chief Executive Officer. "As we plan for continued growth in 2015 and beyond, Anthony and Bruce will play critical roles in achieving the goals we've set for Sidewinder. I would also like to thank Bruce Brumley for the numerous contributions that he made to Sidewinder. His leadership set an example for the entire Company," said Mr. Cole.
Sidewinder was formed in 2011 by the Company's management team and Avista Capital Holdings LP to build, own and operate premium land drilling rigs and to provide contract drilling services to exploration and production ("E&P") companies targeting unconventional resource plays in North America. Through acquisitions and construction of newbuild rigs, Sidewinder is building a land drilling company with a large scale, high quality asset base focused on delivering the high performance drilling services required by energy companies seeking to efficiently and safely develop unconventional oil and gas resources.
Sidewinder's strategy is to capitalize on the increasing activity in unconventional resource plays by expanding the Company's existing customer base of large, well-capitalized E&P companies and by operating in all phases of field development, from exploration and delineation drilling to full-scale commercial development. Sidewinder is dedicated to growth and stability and, therefore, intends to selectively expand its drilling fleet with premium rigs through new construction primarily backed by long-term contracts and to execute strategic acquisitions while maintaining a strong balance sheet and access to capital.
