Co-produced this year with DSCC, the conference, which kicks off the ever-popular Business Track, will be held during SID's Display Week on Monday, May 22nd at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The SID Business Conference has consistently drawn large crowds and influential speakers who have provided valuable insights on the health and outlook of the $1 trillion-plus display supply chain. The 2017 event should continue this tradition with 5 influential keynotes representing panel suppliers, display equipment manufacturers, glass suppliers, financial analysts and market analysts. The keynote speakers include:
- Dr. Brian Shieh, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Display and Flexible Technology Group, Applied Materials
- John Zhang, Corporate Vice President, General Manager, Corning Display Technologies
- Leono Guo, Vice Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, BOE Technology
- Yasuo Nakane, Global Head of Technology Research, Mizuho Securities
- Ross Young, Founder and CEO, Display Supply Chain Consultants
The keynote session will address important questions facing the display supply chain, including:
- What is the outlook for each layer of the display supply chain?
- Which segments and which companies are most likely to outperform?
- How long will the boom in FPD equipment spending last?
- What is the outlook for supply/demand and pricing in the LCD and OLED markets?
- What is the right technology strategy, by market, and how will that change?
- How will China's role evolve?
- Will flexible OLEDs change the outlook for the display supply chain?
- Why are display supplier multiples so low and will that change in the near future?
- What kinds of returns are likely from 6G flexible OLED fabs and 10.5G LCD fabs?
- How are equipment and materials suppliers innovating to improve performance and reduce costs?
DSCC Founder and CEO Ross Young noted, "I am thrilled to be back involved with the SID Business Conference. This event brings together the entire display supply chain in one place and helps set the tone for all of Display Week. We look forward to producing a great event."
According to SID President Yong-Seog Kim, "The display industry is at an important inflection point as many new technologies are being rapidly deployed—which have the potential to significantly improve differentiation and profitability while delighting customers. At the same time, many new players are entering, which could eventually lead to over-supply and rapid commoditization. We believe this conference can truly play an important role in shedding light on these and other issues."
In addition to the keynotes, executives from the following companies will also be presenting - Cynora, DSCC, IDC, LG Display, Nanosys, The NPD Group, Royole Corp., Universal Display, UniPixel and Yole. The conference is sponsored by Corning and Cynora with media sponsors including Display Daily, Display+, OLED Association and Veritas et Visus. More information is available at www.displayweek.org.
Conference fees include lunch, refreshments, access to the Display Week exhibit hall and Tuesday morning keynotes, along with electronic copies of the presentation material and admission to the Monday evening networking reception.
