Showpad acquires Taptera's client assets
First acquisition for Showpad since closing Series C funding round
SAN FRANCISCO and GHENT, Belgium, Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Showpad, the world's most powerful content activation and sales enablement platform, today announced the acquisition of the core business assets of Taptera, an enterprise sales management solution.
The purchase, which includes Taptera's customer roster and other assets, is the second major acquisition by Showpad in 2016, and further expands the company's reach within the emerging sales enablement technology sector. The acquisition is the first since Showpad completed its $50 million Series C funding round in May 2016, the largest funding round this year in the sales enablement industry. Financial terms of the deal were not publicly disclosed.
"Sales enablement software is quickly going from a nice-to-have to a must-have," said Louis Jonckheere, co-CEO of Showpad. "This space is filled with a number of high-quality competitors, all looking to make the job of salespeople in the field a simpler one. Taptera is one I'm thrilled we're partnering with and able to bring into the Showpad fold."
The acquired Taptera assets are expected to be transitioned to Showpad by year-end, with much of that process already underway. Through the transition, Showpad will continue to provide the Taptera experience the company's clients have expected with Showpad's integration into Box.
"Taptera is pleased to join forces with Showpad," said Kevin Dew, Taptera's Chief Executive Officer. "Our two companies have always had an excellent relationship and we believe this alliance will result in a win-win for customers who are seeking to measure the impact of content on their business."
