ShootLocal Location Hunt Competition Expands
All Photographers, Filmmakers and Creatives Encouraged to Scout, Shoot, Share and Win
NEW HAVEN, Conn., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ShootLocal, a free iPhone and desktop application that serves as a social utility for photographers, filmmakers and creatives to scout, shoot, share and discover locations, has expanded its location hunt competition to include hobbyists and professionals and has extended the deadline to October 15, 2012. Anyone in the US is invited to participate in the ShootLocal Location Hunt Competition by downloading the free app and scouting locations worldwide or around the corner. Every location posted to ShootLocal is entered to win prizes such as a Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18-55mm IS II Kit and specialty iPhone camera lenses from Lensbaby in categories like Best Contemporary Location, Best Public Property, Best Private Property, and others. The judges also will select a Best Overall Location and 10 finalists to compete for the Community's Choice Award, which will be voted on by ShootLocal users.
The Perfect Portfolio Project
The ShootLocal Location Hunt Competition is the perfect project for hobbyists to build their portfolios and become a part of a larger creative community, and for pros to better catalog their locations and show off what makes them great. Though the participation is limited to adults in the U.S., the locations can be from any place and any time. Favorite shoots prior to this time period qualify for consideration as long as they are uploaded within the competition timeframe and don't already exist in the ShootLocal database.
