HOUSTON, Jan. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawyers with the Securities Law Firm of SHEPHERD SMITH EDWARDS & KANTAS LLP, www.sseklaw.com, are investigating claims involving KM Capital Management, Ltd. ("KM Capital"). KM Capital is a registered investment advisory firm, previously registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"), now solely registered with state securities regulators in Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas.
According to KM Capital's website, the firm includes a team of "CPAs, CFPs, attorneys, agents, and administrative staff" which specializes in serving "athletes and entertainers." Despite these claimed qualifications, KM Capital allegedly sold one or more of its clients promissory notes issued by Storehouse Lending, LLC ("Storehouse"). These promissory notes were supposed to pay 15% interest per year to the investors, with the principal to be repaid within 1 year unless renewed.
Storehouse has defaulted on at least one of these notes. It is currently unclear how many other investors have been affected by this, or how much of their investment has been lost. Investments in promissory notes can be highly risky, and are not appropriate for many investors. It is also imperative that financial professionals conduct appropriate due diligence on the company promising to pay before they offer that investment as an option to clients. Those clients also must be clearly warned of the risks involved in the investment.
If you are or were a client of KM Capital who invested in Storehouse Lending, LLC, contact the law firm of Shepherd, Smith, Edwards & Kantas LLP for an evaluation of your account to determine if you might have a claim to attempt to recover some or all of your losses. All communications will be kept strictly confidential, and you will not be billed in any way for a consultation.
