Sharp Rolls Out Its New Touch Display Launcher To Organize Programs On The AQUOS BOARD™ Interactive Display System
Desktop's attractive spinning carousel provides quick and easy access to customizable list of frequently used apps, documents and web links.
MAHWAH, N.J., Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, is rolling out its new Touch Display Launcher, an easy-to-use desktop solution created to keep apps, documents, web links and other programs organized and easily accessible for users of Sharp AQUOS BOARD Interactive Display Systems.
"The Touch Display Launcher makes navigating your AQUOS BOARD PC a snap – or in this case a spin," said Steve Brauner, Senior Product Manager for the Sharp AQUOS BOARD Interactive Display System. "Frequently used applications can be tapped and opened quickly, avoiding clutter that comes with sorting through applications on a standard desktop. Different work groups can design their own unique workspace, making this new software ideally suited for meetings, presentations, and video conferences."
This solution is the latest feature complementing Sharp's family of interactive displays, and another example of how Sharp is revolutionizing the way businesses communicate, collaborate and disseminate information. The new Touch Display Launcher organizes apps and programs onto a spinning carousel launcher screen that opens on the AQUOS BOARD display and allows users to simply touch, spin and tap icons to open programs. The application is part of the package available now when users download the Sharp Pen Software version 2.5 upgrade.
When Sharp Pen Software version 2.5 is downloaded, the Touch Display Launcher application is automatically installed onto the desktop of the PC connected to the AQUOS BOARD. The application then automatically populates Microsoft Office Suite® to incorporate preset icons into the carousel. When opened, the Touch Display Launcher pops up to act as the PC's desktop background; the flexible carousel that appears on the display allows users to easily add up to ten icons representing their favorite or frequently used applications, documents, websites or other programs. Up to five work groups or individuals can preset their own launcher screen applications per system.
The Touch Display Launcher carousel can store and access any application or program on the PC, and is an ideal tool for getting organized before a meeting or presentation. During a meeting or presentation, users simply launch the customized carousel and tap icons to open programs that facilitate a discussion or complement a presentation. Additionally, the entire AQUOS BOARD system can connect to Sharp copiers, allowing users to save, e-mail or immediately print and share hard copies of documents edited or created using the interactive display during a group session. This software, which now supports 10 languages, is an easy-to use-tool for work groups using the Sharp AQUOS BOARD, helping to simplify communication and better connect and engage colleagues.
