Sharp® Appoints Michael A. Ludgate As Senior Director Of Sales, Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group
CAMAS, Wash., July 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) today announced that Michael A. Ludgate has been appointed senior director of sales at Sharp's Solar Energy Solutions Group (SESG), the U.S. solar division of SEC, which provides a broad range of solar energy applications to residential and commercial customers. In this position, Mr. Ludgate is responsible for developing sales strategies and directing the sales force to expand the SESG business. Mr. Ludgate reports to Tim Polega, vice president of SESG.

Prior to joining SEC, Mr. Ludgate served as the business unit director of Kyocera Solar Inc. where he led the business development, sales, marketing and systems engineering teams for Kyocera's solar division. Before joining Kyocera, Mr. Ludgate worked at Intel Corporation as the business strategy lead for the company's Industrial Automation Business Unit. Prior to this role, Mr. Ludgate drove the sales and marketing strategy for Intel Corporation's Storage Components Division. He also served as the HP marketing and strategy manager for both thin clients and wireless networking.

Mr. Ludgate earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo and master's degree in business administration from York University.
