Sharethrough Surpasses $80 Million Annual Run Rate
Achieves eight straight quarters of double-digit mobile revenue growth
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharethrough, the leading native advertising automation company, today announced a 700 percent increase in revenue from mobile ads during its most recent fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2014, with total gross advertising revenues growing over 50 percent for the third consecutive year. Q4 2014 marked the eighth straight quarter of double-digit mobile revenue growth for Sharethrough. The company surpassed an $80 million annual run rate, a key reason it was named a top five fastest growing advertising technology company by Deloitte.
"Sharethrough's growth in 2014 outpaced the growth of the native advertising market by over 2X," said Dan Greenberg, Sharethrough's CEO. "Since we founded the company, our goal has been to build technology that allows publishers to drive revenue with ads that fit in. Toward that end, we will continue to develop programmatic advertising software for publishers and advertisers to create and more efficiently manage their in-feed advertising campaigns."
The growing amount of time people spend on mobile devices has energized the mobile advertising market, which Gartner predicts will reach $42 billion by 2017. As a result of this trend and Sharethrough's mobile product innovation, 22 out of 25 Ad Age Megabrands used the company's technology to automate the delivery of more than 7 billion ad impressions across the open web in 2014. Last year, mobile ad spend on Sharethrough surpassed desktop, with more than 60 percent of all content in the Sharethrough Exchange being served on phones and tablet inventory.
Over the past 12 months, Sharethrough technology allowed publishers to open up new in-feed revenue streams on mobile. By installing Sharethrough For Publishers (SFP) as their native ad server and monetization software, Sharethrough publishers earned more than $20 million in 2014. The number of publishers who installed SFP increased by more than 200 percent, including new partners Time Inc., USA Today Sports, Warner Bros, Men's Health and more.
A summary of Sharethrough's 2014 momentum highlights include:
- More than 700 percent year-over-year annual mobile revenue growth with eight consecutive quarters of double-digit mobile business growth
