Shareablee Ranks Top Ten TV Networks in September 2015
FOX breaks into Top Ten; BBC America sees largest growth in September
NEW YORK, Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareablee Inc., the leading social media benchmarking and audience analysis firm that partners with TV and cable networks CBS, NBC, ESPN, Univision, FOX News and CNN, among others, today released a September ranking of the most socially engaged TV Networks in the U.S. The ranking, which includes all television shows and the main network brand accounts under their respective networks, reflects a total of 483 million social actions across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube. Engagement for TV networks remained flat compared to August 2015.
FOX broke into the Top Ten in September, driven by the premieres of Empire which topped Fall primetime TV shows with 6.8 million actions, and Scream Queens, which scored number one among new Fall primetime TV shows with 4.6 million actions. ABC ranked number one on Facebook with 36.1 million actions, NBC ranked number one on YouTube and Tumblr with a combined 2.4 million actions, and ESPN ranked number one on Twitter and Instagram with 9.4 and 36.4 million actions, respectively. Fox News topped the news category with 28.3 million actions. BBC America grew 151 percent, the largest growth in the TV Network category during the month of September, driven by Doctor Who's 245 percent growth in total social actions, which premiered on September 19. NBC captured the most social amplification (shares and retweets) of any TV network with 8.4 million shares and retweets on Facebook and Twitter, and also scored the top engaged show on Tumblr: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
