Shareablee Ranks Top Ten TV Networks in October 2015
AMC breaks into Top Ten; Esquire Network sees largest growth in October
NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareablee Inc., the leading social media benchmarking and audience analysis firm that partners with TV and cable networks CBS, NBC, ESPN, Univision, FOX News and CNN, among others, today released an October ranking of the most socially engaged TV Networks in the U.S. The ranking, which includes all television shows and the main network brand accounts under their respective networks, reflects a total of 542.4 million social actions across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube. Engagement for TV networks increased 7 percent compared to September 2015, driven by a growth of 35 percent on Instagram and 15 percent on Twitter.
AMC broke into the Top Ten in October, driven by the premiere of The Walking Dead which has been the top primetime TV show since its premiere on October 8th. ABC ranked number one on Facebook with 33.3 million actions and scored the top engaged broadcast show in October overall: America's Funniest Home Videos. ABC also captured the most social amplification (shares and retweets) of any TV network with 7.8 million shares and retweets on Facebook and Twitter. NBC ranked number one on YouTube with 1.4 million actions excluding views, MTV ranked number one on Tumblr, and ESPN ranked number one on Twitter and Instagram with 11.2 and 55 million actions, respectively. Fox News topped the news category with 29.6 million actions. Esquire grew 256 percent, the largest growth in the TV Network category during the month of October, driven by Car Matchmaker's viral video post which captured over 2,400 percent more engagement than the average Esquire network post.
