Shareablee Ranks Top Ten TV Networks in December 2015
ESPN dominates the Top Ten; Travel Channel sees largest growth in December
NEW YORK, Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareablee Inc., the leading social media benchmarking and audience analysis firm that partners with TV and cable networks CBS, NBC, ESPN, Univision, FOX News and CNN, among others, today released an December ranking of the most socially engaged TV Networks in the U.S. The ranking, which includes all television shows and the main network brand accounts under their respective networks, reflects a total of 551.9 million social actions across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube (excluding views). Engagement for TV networks grew 4 percent compared to December 2015, due to a 12 percent increase on Instagram.
ESPN ranked number one on Facebook with 35.2 million actions, Twitter with 27.5 million actions, and Instagram with 85.8 million actions. ESPN also captured the most social amplification (shares and retweets) of any TV network with 7.7 million shares and retweets on Facebook and Twitter. NBC ranked number one on YouTube with 2.1 million actions excluding views, and also ranked number one on Tumblr. Fox News topped the news category with 32.2 million actions and also captured over 6.4 billion Facebook impressions, the most of any TV network during the month of December. Travel Channel saw the largest growth at 697 percent, driven by a 70 percent increase in Facebook posts resulting in a 106 percent growth in Facebook actions.
