About National Ice Cream Month
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. In 2011, National Ice Cream Day will be Sunday, July 17.
President Reagan recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation's population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with "appropriate ceremonies and activities."
The U.S. ice cream industry generates more than $21 billion in annual sales and provides jobs for thousands of citizens. About 9% of all the milk produced by U.S. dairy farmers is used to produce ice cream, contributing significantly to the economic well-being of the nation's dairy industry.

The Perry's Difference
Perry's Ice Cream is a true "Made in N.Y." product using fresh milk sourced from New York State dairy farmers, manufacturing all its products at its facility in Akron, N.Y., and employing more than 285 regional residents.
Perry's continues to use its own tried and true process for making all its ice cream flavors and frozen treats. In addition to using wholesome ingredients, one of the big differences in the final product is that Perry's still slow cooks the ice cream mix. "New technologies exist that would enable us to finish the ice cream making process in about 30 seconds, but instead we choose to spend 30 minutes to achieve the velvety texture and creamy taste we are proud to put our name on," said Brian Perry, executive vice president and vice chairman.
