The proof is in the numbers as newsstand sales for the November issue, featuring rock star PINK, are up over last year's by 21%. ABC's Rapid Report shows that Shape magazine's newsstand sales for the second half of 2012 are 5% higher than the same period last year, while competitors Self and Fitness sales are below last year by 28% and 9%, respectively. Furthermore, Shape's overall circulation is the largest in its field and has met its rate base guarantee for seven consecutive issues.
Shape continues to attract top talent with the following four executive hires all formerly at Conde Nast publications: Jana Hollingshead as the Executive Beauty Director, formerly Ad Director of Vogue; Lauren Fisher as Executive Fashion Director, formerly Executive Fashion Director at Glamour; Amy Monroe as Co-Midwest Advertising Director, formerly Midwest Director of Brides; and Sara Swiatkowski as Co-Midwest Advertising Director, formerly Midwest Director at Brides.
