Shanghai Yupei (Group) Invests US$300 Million in Establishing an e-Commerce Logistics Project in Changzhou Aviation Industrial Park
CHANGZHOU, China, Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Shanghai Yupei (Group) signed a cooperative agreement with the administrative committee of Changzhou National Hi-Tech District on September 2, whereby Yupei will invest US$300 million in establishing an e-commerce logistics project in Changzhou Aviation Industrial Park.
Yupei's Changzhou e-commerce industrial park, co-invested and developed by Shanghai Yupei (Group) and US-based The Carlyle Group, will become home to a number of companies, among them Japan Itochu Logistics, while, at the same time, setting up its own e-commerce platform and logistics platform companies. The park will be equipped with a warehouse, logistics facilities as well as billing and distribution centers. The chief products handled by the park at present are Midea and Gree brand home appliances.
With Changzhou Airport as a key driver of business in the region, Changzhou is striving to develop the aviation manufacturing and aviation services sectors. Changzhou Aviation Industrial Park has been approved to establish a block of general aviation controlled airspace, with a flight zone encompassing a maximum of 1,720 square kilometers and a flight height of up to 3,000 meters. The airspace will be used by the park's resident companies for the flying of their general aircraft.
