Shanghai Expo Nears Opening; Tourists Can Make Plans
BEIJING, March 17 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- As the Shanghai Expo nears its opening date of May 1, 2010, tourists from abroad are already making plans for their visits. The Expo is expected to draw 10 million visitors from abroad, and 60 million domestic Chinese tourists. The Expo ends October 31, 2010. Participants include 185 nations and 46 NGOs.
Tickets and tours for groups and individuals are best organized by travel agencies. Tickets go on sale in advance, so some planning is necessary.
"The Shanghai Expo a great opportunity to combine a world class event with a China tour," says Peter Danford, General Manager of The China Guide (http://www.TheChinaGuide.com ). "We have been arranging tours for families, groups and students for Expo 2010; it's proving to be a great draw for foreigners. Prices are higher because of the Expo and hotels are filling up, so it's good to plan in advance and take time to do research.
