He brings over 20 years of experience, as well as expertise in the areas of sports medicine, pain management, healthcare, and medicine and surgery of the foot, including wound care, to his role.

Prior to joining the team at Family First Foot Care, Dr. Burchfield worked at Narrows Podiatry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University, and then went on to complete his Medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.
To further his professional development, Dr. Burchfield is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, a member of the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Association of Lower Extremity Nerve Surgeons, American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management, and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management. Since 2010, Dr. Burchfield's community service has had to take a backseat to his wife's breast cancer, which she has been battling successfully.
When not working, Dr. Burchfield volunteers his time to dog rescue organizations. He also enjoys spending time with dogs, family and friends, singing, and playing guitar. His future goals include having continued success and growth in the field of Podiatry. He sat the Board Certification in Wound Care recently, in June of 2017.
