Throughout the course of his education and training, Dr. Burchfield attained his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. Thereafter, Dr. Burchfield went on to complete his Medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.

To further his professional development, Dr. Burchfield is an affiliate of several organizations including the  American Podiatric Medical Association, Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Association of Lower Extremity Nerve Surgeons, American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management, and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management.

Since 2010, Dr. Burchfield's community service has had to take a backseat to his wife's breast cancer, which she has been battling successfully.

When he is not working, Dr. Burchfield is an avid volunteer to dog rescue organizations. He enjoys spending time with dogs, family and friends, singing, and playing guitar.
