Shale gas: ecorpStim presents latest technological innovation to French Parliament
HOUSTON, Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ecorpStim (eCORP Stimulation Technologies, LLC), a subsidiary of eCORP International, LLC, project developer and energy services provider, has presented its latest technological innovation to the French Parliamentary Office for Scientific and Technological Choices, in the form of a parliamentary report on alternative technologies to hydraulic fracturing for the extraction of unconventional hydrocarbons.
ecorpStim's CEO and Chairman John Francis Thrash presented members of the French Parliament the alternative technologies to hydraulic fracturing developed by ecorpStim : pure propane stimulation, and the group's latest innovation: non-flammable propane stimulation (NFP Stimulation).
Developed in 2013 by ecorpStim's R&D team in Houston, Texas, non-flammable propane stimulation consists of using a fluorinated form of propane as a stimulation fluid. A non-flammable alternative to pure propane stimulation, this new technique enables the complete elimination of any risk associated with the flammability of regular propane. The NFP stimulation fluid presents no risk to the environment or human health.
John F. Thrash, ecorpStim's CEO and Chairman, stated "Using a non-flammable form of propane would eliminate any perceived industrial risks associated with the use of regular propane, namely flammability or explosion. The stimulation sites would thereby not be subject to the European SEVESO classification."
