SGS Slates ISO 26262 Functional Safety Training in Detroit March 26-30
Modular Course Helps Automotive OEMs & Suppliers Satisfy New ISO Requirements
FAIRFIELD, N.J., March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- An ISO 26262 functional safety training class series for automotive OEMs and suppliers is being held in Detroit from March 26-30 by accredited global safety service provider SGS-TUV GmbH. The training program is designed to help attendees comply with the new ISO 26262 standards for automotive electronics safety, including demonstration of the competence of their employees in a functional safety project.
Sessions can be attended singly or in any combination, with a 10% discount for booking the entire five-day series. Upon completion of all five days of the program, participants are eligible to take an exam to qualify as an Automotive Functional Safety Professional (AFSP). Being awarded AFSP status can assist suppliers in bidding for new OEM projects as well as enabling OEMs to fulfill ISO 26262 requirements ensuring the competence of their suppliers.
Training sessions will include practical instruction for meeting ISO 26262 requirements and address the needs of project managers, safety managers, QM managers, function developers, system developers, hardware and software developers, and analytical engineers. Topics covered will include:

- Application of the new standards in vehicle concept development
- Technical concept design of systems and sub-systems
- Safety-oriented hardware and software development
- Analytics for functional safety management at all stages of the safety lifecycle
